Difficult to diagnose the problem.

I bought this again after being happy with the first purchase. It was part of several computer upgrades I built. It wasn't necessarily DOA as it seemed to work at first, but it definitely worked out of the box. It didn't immediately show any problems, but after a week or so I had these bouts of frequent BSODs and then returned to a time when they weren't there anymore, making troubleshooting difficult. It took me some time to eliminate all possible problems. . I RMAed the ram stick I added thinking it was causing my BSOD problems as the error info said "memory management" or "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". I thought I had a bad memory sector. It didn't help. Sorry Newegg. I went ahead and opted for a new motherboard, which didn't fix the problem either. It never occurred to me that a Wi-Fi card could crash an entire computer, but once I put in a fully functional first device I bought it worked great. Now I can no longer return the item as the 30-day return period has long since expired. And yes, I've tried updating drivers and BIOS versions. I've even reinstalled Windows on a new motherboard from a fresh install.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
