I have a cooling pad (with 3 fans) that I use in my office. I bought this type for home use and the main reasons I chose this over a cooling pad is the price and it packs easily in my laptop bag. I've only had them for a few days and so far I like them. What I would like is a variety of height settings (think something like a reclining patio chair with graduated inclines). Another thing that takes some getting used to is that the stand anchors the laptop right where the touchpad is. So that's what you have to deal with if you don't use a mouse. Overall this is not a bad product and I would recommend it.
