Questions? - Charging Stations

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and it charged fine vertically at first. But one night it stopped loading that way, it just flashes red and blue no matter how I set it up. Does anyone else have this problem? Now I can only charge it horizontally and that's not a problem, but I'm just wondering if there's a way to fix this.
