My daughter first bought one and recommended it to me. I wanted to try microwave potato chips and needed a mandolin. The price for it has been around $16-$22 for the past few weeks and I was able to buy at a lower price. This comes from Norpro, a reputable company that I have previously purchased from. There are a variety of blades but I only used a regular blade which is very sharp and allows you to quickly slice through potatoes. Comes with a juicer attachment. Unfolds and stands securely. I will say that I don't like the mechanism and the protection that holds the object for cutting. It's very unstable and your veg (or fruit, cheese, etc.) needs to be attached to the four tabs built into the protective case. Most of the potatoes I used didn't fit properly, being either too big or too small. For me very few items sit securely and I use my hand instead. You have to be extremely careful not to cut your fingers! For occasional use, it's ok as long as I'm careful. For everyday use, I would definitely buy something in the higher price range with more security features.
