I only used the power supply, not the DC power supply. But the power adapter charges my Samsung K5 in about 2 hours, about half the time it takes to charge my PC. That's handy because if I'm not syncing new music, why would I need to tether my computer? One time I just needed to charge the player and didn't want to turn on the computer just for that, so it was pretty handy. The included cable fits right into the K5, of course, and is a good length, about 3/4 yard. Technical support is only available via email and you need to find the model number to get it. Delivery time 24 hours, except weekends. I wish they had a tote bag with them; This has prompted me to downgrade from 5* to 4*. I also don't know if I'll ever use a DC/car adapter and wish I didn't have to buy one. Another reason to downgrade. But it works fine.
