I tested a few different K&H cat products and they were all well made. This is no exception. It's very heavy for what it is, which is a good thing - it's a quality material. It snaps together easily yet is sturdy enough for two cats if you have two cats that don't mind sharing. We do not know. She's got an idiot and another weakling, so this idiot has a home. And she's pretty proud of herself, I think she likes it a lot. I have the unheated version but I have another indoor house from this company that is heated and the cats love it. It is enough that they take turns lying down in it (usually they refuse to lie in the same place where another dared to shed their hair). I can assume the heated version is just as good. But everything is fine even without a heating pad. You can always put a low heating pad under the duvet.
