Review on Philips Soup and Smoothie Maker, 2-4 Servings, HR2204/70, 1.2 Liters, Black & Stainless Steel by Shawn Mortensen

Only one is missing.

This is a great soup maker: add ingredients, select program, press start and in 20 minutes you'll have a perfectly cooked soup again. In addition, Philips offers a selection of delicious recipes. But what if you want to cook your own recipes? Let's say baked potato soup with cheese or clam chowder. So what? The only thing missing from this product is information on how to use it, apart from the recipes provided. I've learned that 1) Soup cookers are a 'thing' in the UK and you can find lots of good UK recipes online. 2) Do not try to cook raw potato soup in it. Instead, pre-cook them. Using raw potatoes in this machine will foam and simmer your soup, and 3) anything that needs to be cooked in oil, like sautéing garlic, should be done on your stovetop and then placed in the machine. No browning or frying will occur in this machine. Philips could/should have given some recommendations similar to those in the instructions. You do not have :(
