Reviews mentioning that there is no grip and you can feel the stones are dead underfoot and that's why I wanted these sandals. A lack of stimulation in the legs contributes to many other physical ailments, and I love that it allows me to feel where I'm going while providing protection. They're a bit on the wide side with little lips that fold over the sides of the foot, but it adds stability, which was a great feature. My leg muscles are doing all the work they're supposed to do and they look like Teva or something that's been trending lately I guess. I'm a little worried about the strap breaking from the thin rubber where it attaches, but I think with their warranty I'll get the life out of them I need. They are quite thin so if you are new to sandals I would recommend the Z-Trail with a thicker sole. I wouldn't wear them yet, but I wear them everywhere. I need to find some cold weather sandals because my toes are so wonderfully splayed since I bought them a few months ago, regular shoes are very uncomfortable. Good problem I think. I found that I had to work harder to lift my toes and forefoot; Even tightening the strap I got caught on the front edge of the sandal a couple of times but I really don't like the toe straps so it was worth making an adjustment for me. I originally ordered a size 10 which is my usual size but they were quite large. 9 fit perfectly. Overall very happy with the purchase of healthier shoes.
