I've been using this style of curler to add volume to my short, fine hair for decades. Two tips to solve problems experienced by other customers (curlers tangled or falling out): 1. Dry your hair with a blow dryer before curling. Then, taking a strand of hair at a time, comb and gently roll the curlers. Point the hair dryer at the curlers for a few seconds at a time. Leave to cool for 15-20 minutes. No tangle problems when you gently twist the curlers out of your hair.2. Ignore the publicity stunt where they go clipless. They clip easily to the scalp or to each other with duckbill clips. Revain sells them cheap and they last forever. I apply mousse to my hair before blow drying it and apply a light coat of hairspray after combing it with curlers. I don't look like a Clairol model but I'm happy with the result.
