Works very well. We had an engraved travertine countertop that the 'experts' said couldn't be easily repaired. Using these and a random orbital polish (Porter Cable) we were able to remove all the etches and all the scratches. I started with 800 grit and progressed to 3000 grit and polish. The result was very good and the counter became shiny rather than "polished". I'm not sure I would have polished it further with these products once it had reached full reflectivity. I read online that the way to add shine is to use marble powder and a felt pad. Ordered from amazon. The result is equal or even better than the originally installed finish. We are very happy with the result. Two caveats. Use plenty of water when using discs. I used a spray bottle with plain water. And second, if you're using marble powder, make sure to use a good mask (not the standard cheap paper mask) as the dust is pretty hard to breathe.
