I've always wanted a one-cable solution. I have this docking station for my new Dell Precision 5750 with a Xeon W-10885M processor and 64GB of registered DDR4 memory along with a 2TB NVMe SSD (1TB x 2 RAID 0) and an NVidia Quadro RTX 3000 GPU Bought. I am using 3 monitors at 3840 x 2160 and thought I could use this dock to drive 3 displays and use my nVidia GPU. It does not work. The HDMI port recognizes a 4K monitor as a 2560 x 1440 monitor. It recognizes the other two monitors as 4K monitors, but only offers a 30Hz refresh rate, which sucks. I almost returned it, but then I decided to bring my Razer Core X with Quadro P4000 GPU to the Thunderbolt 3 port available on this dock. It worked! I can now run three displays at 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz, which is great for desktop use. single cable. It also charges my laptop fairly well. So I decided to keep it. Other docking stations will NOT charge the Precision 5750 or XPS 17 as these laptops require 130W from the docking station to charge. A Razer Core X behind my two Dell P317Q monitors and (in the middle) a PHL BDM4350 monitor seems to work well enough. The P4000 is a great card for programmers. I'm disappointed that Dell didn't provide a single cable solution that the RTX 3000 could use over TB3, but I have a solution that works! This might not be a solution for everyone, but if you're wondering if you can daisy chain a Razer Core X or other TB3 graphics case, it will do the trick. Please note that the Razer Core X has enough power to handle fairly large graphics cards. I also have a Razer Core V2 and while this worked, it resulted in rather strange USB behavior when I tried to use its USB ports. Therefore, your mileage may vary with other TB3 eGPU cases. The P4000 is a single-slot GPU that only consumes around 150W. But My Razer Core X also worked well with other larger cards including the nVidia GTX 2080ti and the Radeon Vega 64 (used for Mac). Unfortunately, if you have a Quadro laptop, you can use an AMD GPU, but you cannot use a GTX GPU and a Quadro GPU together. For some reason, one of the GPUs needs to be disabled, leading to some system instability. If you use Quadro, stick with Quadro or AMD. If you use GTX, stick with GTX and AMD. Getting back on topic with this dock, I didn't want to mess with the return since it's the only dock that gives me a one-cable solution and allows me to daisy chain an eGPU, charge my laptop, and other peripherals to join . . works for me YMMV.
