EDIT 4/26/2018: For more consistent results I am now monitoring my beer. Here are my first notes. The beans were ground for filter coffee. A typical serving is 4 oz. Batch #1: 1 tablespoon chicory, 1.75 cups ground beans, add water, stir, insert filter, shake, add water. Keeps 24 hours in the fridge. Yield 19 oz of final product. Very concentrated; perfect for those who like to drink without ice. Batch #2: 1 tablespoon chicory, 1 cup ground beans (77g/2.72oz), add water, stir, insert filter, shake, fill with water. Matured in the refrigerator for 32 hours. Got 21 ounces of concentrate. Focused and bold without ice, but I prefer it even bolder with a little more caffeine. # Infinity Pack: I'm sticking with 1 tablespoon of chicory and 1.5 cups of ground beans from now on. This should be perfect for my daily needs. Hope that helps. Happy cold brewing! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I hadn't thought about this purchase; I just needed something for my upcoming two week trip. I was expecting bulges in the filter as that is so common these days. Not at all. The seam on the filter is so even that I can rub it all over my face. Produces frightening amounts and simplifies production. In the past I have used multiple bags of screens to ensure minimal settling. There was so much trouble that I never did it again. I will be buying a 2 liter jar soon to use with this filter. my method? This 1 liter jar produced nearly 24 ounces of liquid gold 1 - Approximate amount of ground coffee and chicory straight into the jar 2 - Fill the jar 50% full of water 3 - Insert the filter then close the lid and the spout. 4 - Shake vigorously to wet all the coffee grounds. 5 - Open spout, then pour water. 6 - Shake again. 7 - Add water after 1 hour. 8 - Shake occasionally. --- 9 - Open the spout and pour the water into another vessel of the same size. 10 - If some liquid gold remains, allow the jar to invert completely and drain into another jar for 5-10 minutes. (Leave the spout in the liquid gold for stability) This two container system will now accompany most weekend getaways. Thoroughly impressed.
