I have a good knowledge of gel polish, I mainly use several layers of base and top. First I applied a white glossy gel polish and dried it. I then applied a water base and then dripped in a small amount of colored ink. You must have a steady hand as this ink can make quite a mess. I only ever tried one color at a time until I learned how to mix colors. I've seen some artists use a toothpick to manipulate colors to create better patterns. Overall it's fun and the set is reasonably priced to try a few different patterns.
