This is surprisingly mediocre. I probably wouldn't spend money on it (I got it for free in exchange for an honest review). I placed the sisal scratching post on its end hoping to put it on the couch where my cats always seem to want to scratch. At first it was difficult to assemble. As I show in one of the pictures, the placement of the screws makes it so you can't turn the hex wrench all the way, so it's quite awkward to assemble. And when it is assembled the screws are not flush and are visible between the parts (see photo). The sisal is attached to the metal with 3 long strips of adhesive that run horizontally across the back of the sisal. This means that when cats scratch it, it detaches from the metal and is not very reliable. Also, it doesn't fit flush with my sofa because my sofa's armrests aren't straight, they have a rounded armrest that many sofas have. It is too high to fit under the armrest and fit snugly against the sofa. Therefore, when my cats scratch it, the piece of metal with the sisal attached moves forward until the bottom finally rests on the sofa, preventing it from moving. find a way to attach the sisal more securely, this could be a good product for you. But if you have furniture with ledges/sides that aren't quite straight or there's no way to better secure the sisal, it's likely to disappoint.
