I would call it closer to 3.5 if it were possible. The range is good; I hear a horn honk in the car as I pull into the driveway. And the basic instructions worked fine for me, but I don't use any fancy settings, although it doesn't say anything about the flashing red light that suddenly appeared after about two months of use. The watch strap is hard and uncomfortable, and the position of the buttons is uncomfortable. It's ok for basic functionality, but can't comment on additional features or longevity as I haven't had it for quite some time.
