Replacing a chip should seem pretty easy with the tools and instructions provided. I even watched a video on how to do it before ordering. However, the chip was glued into the original cartridge and could hardly be removed. After nearly an hour of trying to gently pry it out, I finally tried to cut it out with a razor and the chip went in so hard it broke the blade in half. Older cartridges may have had the chip loose and removable, new ones don't appear to be. Ultimately, the money and time wasted was not worth the potential savings.
