Decent digital ruler (resolution), not a cheap caliper. Nothing is hidden, the description and photos show and say everything in terms of functionality. The main issue for me is the 0.01 inch resolution. This is quite a large range, you can get more accurate readings with a steel ruler because unlike a ruler you don't have a visual way of seeing if it's equal to + or - 0.01. Like a regular caliper it offers 4-way measurement, so if your needs are typically around +/- 1/64 (0.015) this should be a very good solution. However, if you have to deal with machine parts, let's say metric screws mixed with US standard, it's just not going to help much. It appears to be a tough ballistic type as advertised and very light too. A handy device when you need quick measurements in its resolution range.
