Perfection. I use it for applique on my knees and can attach a clip to the side (Tranya brand for $9. Bought it on Amazon with it). The laptop is smaller than a laptop but larger than a handbook. That's the ideal weight, and there are pillows on the bottom for my leg to rest between. There is an app product called Lap App and I know someone who has it. I find this works better for me, more stable, and again I can connect a rechargeable light to it and have enough space for a big project.
