Works with older iLink DV camcorders for digital video/audio transmission
cable only works for my intended purpose. I needed a way to connect my old Sony DV camcorder's 4-pin iLink "Firewire" port to a 9-pin cable to stream old home videos to my 2016 MacBook Pro. Connection: Bizlander DV Firewire 800 Cable 4-Pin to 9-Pin > 9-Pin Apple Firewire to TB2 Cable > Apple TB2 to TB3 Cable > USB-c port on my MacBook. This allows me to capture DV from the camera to the computer using Quicktime or other software. Not an elegant solution, but works great.
- The 9-pin connector is a rectangle with square corners. It has 5 pins on one side and 4 pins on the other side.
