Some of the paint on the plate was peeling off right out of the box. Don't expect the tablet to work well with normal use. I am a child therapist and none of my children were interested in the serving tool. The wood of the cutting tool is too thick to fit between the pieces, so no child could carve well. If you cut 2 pieces, the velcro will stick back together when you cut the other side. In addition, it is difficult for children to align the filling evenly so that the cutting tool can pass between the pieces without hitting them. I usually like Melissa and Doug, but this purchase was disappointing.
