I used these weights to balance the lower wheel on an old bandsaw. I bought the bandsaw used and it vibrated badly. I confirmed the source of the vibration was the lower wheel by running the bandsaw without the blade (the lower wheel is driven by the motor, and removing the blade means only the lower wheel turns). The upper wheel still has the balance weight that was installed at the factory, but the lower wheel is missing its weight. The original weights are made of lead and are secured by a rivet through a hole in the wheel. I simply added weights to the wheel near the hole, since that is where the original weight would have been, and ran the bandsaw without the blade, adding one weight at a time until the vibration stopped. I tried some old adhesive weights I had, but they didn’t stick very well because the wheels are cast iron and are rough. I decided to try clip-on weights because the wheels have a lip inside the rim that they can clip to. I had to bend the clips open because the lip is thicker than a car rim. They worked perfectly.
