I remember when the word nerf ball referred to a very soft, ultra light and spongy ball. currently it seems that Nerf only makes harder rubber balls. This foam ball is the closest thing to old-fashioned Nerf balls. I bought the 6" version to use for a silent shot with an over the door basketball hoop (size XL). SKLZ Pro mini basketball hoop. There is almost no noise when hitting a backboard, edge or floor/wall so it doesn't bother my neighbors like it does with the included hard rubber basketball that comes with the hoop. the included ball, but using a 4 inch ball should solve this problem. Anyway, I like to use a 6 inch ball because it's a challenge. shot while playing real basketball maybe it's in my head but i swear i shoot better lol.
