The upper part, which is attached to the moxer, oxidizes when washed in the dishwasher.

I replaced the original because all of the original nozzles are so badly oxidized that my fingers rubbed them off. That's why I bought a coated dough hook and a flat blade. This item was nice and shiny before washing. The packaging doesn't mention that it's not dishwasher safe.
