Poor quality cable, one side of the headset was not working upon arrival

I bought a Sony MDR-ZX300 four years ago and was very satisfied. I'm still using it with no problems. I wanted a headset of similar quality but with a microphone. So naturally I thought the ZX310 would be an upgrade if not the same as the ZX300. So I bought this one, and guess what, one of the ears didn't work right away. I noticed that the cable is much thinner than the ZX300. Couldn't even check the sound quality. Returned. I still love Sony headsets but this one was disappointing.
