My second pair of Master & Dynamic ME05PDs broke after about 6 months of use - as often as the first pair. In both cases the symptoms were the same - either one earbud turned off momentarily, then the other - then permanently - either very quiet or very quiet. Bending the rubber tube covering the cable next to the headphones was sometimes able to restore sound for a while, but no more. It's pretty clear to me that there is a systematic mechanical issue with how the wires are connected internally.
