I used to buy an egg timer and modified it for GoPro panning time lapse. I was looking for something that can support the weight of my RX10 II camera and I came across this. Build quality is good, but nothing special. It's small and light enough that I can toss it in my DSLR backpack along with other gear without even realizing it's there. The ability to attach a tripod to the bottom is a huge plus! Operation is very simple and requires no batteries. Just spin and 360 degrees is 60 minutes, 180 degrees is 30 minutes and you can do your own calculations for other degrees of rotation. It makes a ticking sound while moving, which isn't a problem for me as I record videos without sound. It's also nice to have an audible confirmation that it's working. One feature I'd like to see in a future release is the ability to choose different rotation speeds. Sometimes I don't have an hour to do a 360-degree time-lapse, and some cameras' capture times and/or battery life can be an issue.
