Does not require a power cord, runs much more quietly, goes to sleep when not in use, you can restart the computer without forgetting to remove the drive, has a small enough connector to connect thin laptops. The only issue I can think of is that the USB-C connector isn't a built-in cable, the built-in cable is an old-style Lightning connector that's no longer part of the new Macs. The USB-C cable is separate which doesn't make sense to me as it will be a new port in the future. So why not make an integrated connector out of it? Also, this is a great upgrade for any type of USB hard drive I've had in the past.
