this remote control does exactly what it says on the tin. Once I put the batteries in, I turned on the TV, which I had somehow lost the remote from, and everything worked like clockwork. The buttons on this replacement are a little flatter and smoother, so they're not as kind to my greasy fingers when I want to snack and scroll through my options without a break. I have to get up a bit and look at the buttons, which slows the speed at which I can shove potato chips and the like in my face. However, it never advertised itself as a convenience snack, but simply as a great replacement for my TV remote control, which it is, so 5 stars.
