This is exactly what I was looking for - a metal coil spring that attaches to a bird feeder post to repel squirrels. It's perfect for my needs (I made it so I could use an existing pole connector to hang it, but I could also attach it with a zip tie or something). That being said - if you're buying this as a skinny fit, be aware that it's a little smaller in diameter than you think, and you may want to get a slightly more expensive (but wider) model.
