Review on Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC Bluetooth Wireless Headphones Featuring Active Noise Cancellation in Black and Silver by Wei-Yin Chang ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No complaints, I recommend to buy.

These Bluetooth headphones can work in one of two modes - the headphones themselves (only playing sound) or in headset mode (that is, both playback and microphone). When connected to a Windows 8 computer, you will directly see two devices called HD450 in the system - one "headphones", the other "handsfree". Why is this important: 1. in headset mode, the quality of the sound played into the ears is noticeably and very significantly reduced - for Skype / zoom chatting it will do, but for computer games or music it will lead to disappointment. 2. for normal operation in headset mode, the device to which we connect the headphones must have support for bluetooth version 5 - a device with bluetooth version 4 will have problems with the microphone volume (you hear well, but you can barely hear, and nothing with it cannot be done). 3. In the headset mode, the sound from the microphone is also sent to the headphones, i. E. you will hear yourself and everything around you - talking in the subway or in a noisy room will not work! In the "only headphones" mode, there are no problems, the noise reduction works fine, and the sound quality is decent.

Pros
  • They hold a charge for a long time (more than 10 hours in active use mode with noise reduction turned on). Soft comfortable ear pads. Great isolation (people around you can't hear your music) and noise cancellation (you can't hear hum in the subway and train). Easily folds up for carrying in a bag.
Cons
  • The battery charge is uneven, first 8 hours of operation from 100 to 70 percent, then after 5 hours of operation from 70 to zero with an unexpected shutdown. Not suitable for use as a headset in noisy places, despite the fact that they perform well in the same noisy places as headphones (more on that below).
