Review on Ubiquiti Networks UVC G4 PRO Protect G4 PRO by Hugh Starr

Update 03/21/2020: Second G4 Pro ordered and connected to PoE switch in the office. It fogged up more than the first camera, but I left it on and the fog cleared in about 36 hours (the first camera cleared in about 12). Both cameras are now fog-free day and night. I am changing my rating to 4/5. Image quality and field of view are much better than the G3s I've used in the past. This lens condensation problem is annoying but went away on its own within 48 hours as promised by Ubiquiti. . However, moisture does get into camera lenses, these cameras generate a lot of heat and after some time of operation this heat should dry out the inside of the lens and prevent the fogging problem from persisting. Update 03/18/2020: After fogging on the first night of installation, the fog disappeared and did not come back on the second night. I'll continue to monitor and make sure the fogging doesn't come back, but I'm leaving my rating at 2/5 stars because it's well documented that many users have fogged at some point. There is clearly a manufacturing defect here. The image quality and the quality of the materials used in this camera are amazing, but they are compromised by this manufacturing defect. First Review: I have a fully installed Unifi network gear and 7 Unifi g3 cameras in my house which I have been using for over a year with no problems. . I swapped a g3 for a g4 pro in my driveway and by nightfall condensation started to form. A quick Google search showed that this was not an isolated case. I should have done more research before purchasing, but I've had such good experiences with the g3 and its routers, switches, and access points that I didn't think twice about upgrading. UBNT staff stated on the forum that this goes away for most people. within 48 hours. Looking through the forums, it turned out that was true for some, but not for all. I guess I'll wait and see, I'll be frustrated if this doesn't resolve itself because the quality of this camera is such an improvement over the g3.
