Review on Anderson Metals Fitting Barstock Female by Tyler Cooley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice Brass 1/4 NPT Tee

I agree with other reviewers who said the picture is not true. The fitting is bent down on all three T-arms to the round end of the pipe - different from what is shown in the picture. I am deducting a star from the rating due to inaccurate and misleading images. In terms of functionality, in most cases this does not affect the use of the fitting. These are 1/4 NPT brass fittings, not 2" steel fittings. You won't be twisting hard with your largest adjustable wrench to get a tight fit. I personally use teflon tape on the threads, some people use some kind of sticky thread material, to make the fittings absolutely tight. In any case, brass fittings tend to be more precisely machined and machined so it doesn't require as much pressure when tightening the fittings as larger zinc plated iron fittings.Female all three ends. The threads appear to be clean finished and match exactly to my 1/4 NPT tube fittings. Incidentally, the size 1/4 NPT is often used on compressed air fittings in the USA. 1/4" refers to the nominal diameter of the tube. The diameter of the threaded hole is significantly larger.
