The fact is that most cleaners these days are made out of cheap, lightweight plastic, which is the complete opposite of the idea that they need to be strong and durable for such a hard job. I usually try to buy mops, brooms, and other off-the-shelf cleaning supplies, but there seems to be a distinct lack of this particular type of wet mop that's designed to clean. And as a rule, commercially available mops are too damp for moisture-sensitive wood laminate in living areas. I've had the popular mop with pre-moistened disposable pads, and although it might be ok for quickly cleaning up spills in the kitchen. absolutely not suitable for wet cleaning of the entire floor plan built from laminate. The moisture built into the pad doesn't spread evenly or go where I want it to, and even wiping down a room before it dries up and gets too dirty to be effective isn't enough. I almost bought the Bona equivalent because I love it. The liquid is user-refillable, but no matter where I looked, people who've owned them have said they're brittle and break easily. It was really hard to find anything positive. Then I happened to see this in a store and was struck by the comparison. It just seemed better done. I love that the mop head is much larger than most and that it can be flipped so I can mop the entire downstairs room without changing the mop or cleaning. The tank is easy to remove and fill, and the nozzle is more than just a hole, it sprays a fine mist over a large area. I also like the little things like the shape of the grip that allows me to change hand position when I get tired and the trigger is easy to reach and pull. The wraparound microfiber pad is great for cleaning small problem areas and the way it attaches. This is a better design than other brands sticky velcro pads. Because it wraps around, there are no sharp edges to scratch and dent furniture and baseboards. TIP: There is a button to release the tank for filling. Since there is a built in o-ring to prevent leakage, it's not as easy to put back on as you might expect. It'll be a lot easier if you hold the release button while pressing down firmly on the tank until it clicks into place. I'm glad they designed it so snug...don't worry about leaks. Is it commercial grade and will it last forever? No, and I doubt it. that's what you get for the price these days. But all in all, after seeing all the options available, I think this is the best choice.
