I bought this blanket for only $36 and am very happy with the quality. I bought it because I had a blue one from the same brand that I liked, but after washing it turned out to be some sort of purple with pink stripes. So I decided to try lighter colors to avoid this problem. This was purchased for a queen size bed and therefore this king size comforter is too big for her, but I specifically ordered it that way - we like the plus size. It's well made with a well tailored look. Suitable for spring and autumn, heavy for summer. We use it in winter together with a bedspread. These duvets are heavy what we love – we find them cozy and comfortable. Washes well - I wash cold, tumble dry low. Some fluff will remain during the first few washes, but after that it will diminish, which is not uncommon for cotton. I find it folds up nicely when folded for summer storage. This may not bother some people, but it annoys me when materials "sag" and don't fold properly. These hold their shape very well. The texture also withstands repeated washing. They are durable and still get along well with cats, dogs and their claws. These duvets aren't as soft as fake duvets, but I'm going through a phase in my life (night flushes) where my duvets need to breathe. Cotton blankets solved this problem for me. I don't find it rough, just not artificially soft. If you are used to cotton I think you will love this blanket. If not, it may take some time to get used to the weight and texture. We love them and intend to buy them again should the need arise, but I don't think it will be for a while - they are made to last. The blue/purple I was talking about? Well it's been washed once a week for a year and apart from the odd colour, it feels brand new. I've tried wearing it down so I had an excuse to replace it with one that looked better cosmetically, but it's still holding up. I ended up buying this one as a spare because it became obvious that the awful striped look would outlive me and I wanted it to look better. I was right about the color, by the way. I bought gray for my son and taupe for my husband and bedroom and the colors have held up well. Not sure why the darker one did what it did - didn't use bleach or anything - maybe it's just a coincidence but I'm very happy with their quality and the lighter colors proved to be the right choice for us. Just a tip: they seem to fluctuate greatly in price. I've seen them drop to over $30 and rise to over $100. Unless you have an emergency, I would watch the price and patiently wait for it to drop.
