Review on Garmin Quickfit Watch Band Wearable Technology by Fred Khalifa

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Decent product but not worth the price.

I bought this set with high hopes. It's thick and stiff, and slightly more breathable than the silicone strap it replaced. But it's barely worth $100. Garmin is clearly chasing high-end watch lovers and believes additional fees for accessories will go unnoticed. While they are better than the IMO leather strap in terms of durability (Garmin still uses bonded leather, which should be criminal for the cost), it remains to be seen how these straps will hold up and wear down over time. It's been about two weeks and I've already had to burn off some unnecessary fibers. The hinges are closed, which is good, and the color is sporty. I don't understand why Garmin doesn't just make a pure rubber strap as it holds up significantly better than the soft silicone they use. Unlike the Garmin silicone, leather, and titanium bands I've tried, the bands for my ball seem to be worth the price. These Garmin straps are way overpriced and I wouldn't recommend buying them unless you can get a deal. I would say that $50 is the maximum price this strap should be worth. If they want to price Ball or Omega, they need to produce accessories of the same quality as those watch brands.

Pros
  • 20mm wide replacement straps for your compatible watch.
Cons
  • No automatic
