Review on πŸ’‘ Unitary Brand Rustic Black Metal Sputnik Ceiling Light with 8 E26 Bulb Sockets - Farmhouse Bedroom Semi Flush Mount, Entryway & Hallway Ceiling Light Fixture, Kitchen Light Fixture by Lynn Warwick

For the inexperienced (or people with little spatial imagination)

I bought this to put in the dining area of a classic 1950's modernist home that I am renovating for resale. Style, size and asymmetry worked in a rather complex space. I wasn't expecting a high quality Murano lamp at this price, but it was even cheaper than I expected. Also, it's made up of multiple pieces, so you'll need to attach and connect each arm separately. It wasn't a problem for me, but it took way longer than I expected. For those with no experience (or those who don't have a good spatial awareness of 3D space) this light can be a problem, and paying an electrician to do the work seems counterintuitive for a mediocre quality light. Another problem was the bad packaging. Revain sent the OE box unopened along with a couple of bulbs which I bought in a large box loosely stuffed as usual. When I opened the inner factory box to the light, there were no peanuts or anything to prevent all the pieces from hitting each other. In fact, the only packaging materials were plastic bags for parts. Two rosettes dangled from the ends of the arms, probably broken in transit. I could go back, but it's a hassle (not to mention trying to find another fixture that would work in this weird room), so I managed to glue the sockets back on. I like other Unitary designs and was planning to buy 6-8 more lights for other rooms in the house but poor packaging and so-so quality changed that plan. I would give this one star but since I've actually used it it would look disingenuous.
