It says it's pure cotton, but it's not the rough kind. Its smooth texture almost resembles a synthetic feeling to the touch (in a good way), but it has the weight of cotton. I really like how it feels. It's also very comfortable and lets just enough air through to feel comfortable and not too hot. I got a medium size, but it fits more like a "large small" which is great for me but keep that in mind when you order yours. If they had more design (front graphics) options, I'd consider buying more.
