Revainrating 5 out of 5

Although incredibly cheap, this is the best.

the thing is a dream. It's small, so you're unlikely to damage it when applying the parking brake. It communicates via Bluetooth and not via WiFi or a serial port. Bluetooth is what you want because it leaves your tablet or phone's Wi-Fi available to connect to the internet at the same time. Documentation on the web is sparse and full of superstitions. My buddy and I tried to get the more expensive "OBD dongle" to work but failed. It turned out to be the WiFi version. The apps seem to imply that you can set up the device to communicate via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, but so far in my experience, that's not the case. The hardware is what it is. And it's up to you to find out. Trust me, it can be a time-consuming and painful process when you regularly have to crawl under the dash in inclement weather to see what's going on with one of those keys, until you develop the ability to communicate with it, only you can Gather clues by trying to interpret the tiny LEDs that flash at you through the device's plastic casing. - Believe me. Buy this. It's cheap, so what's the risk? AND REMEMBER THAT BLUETOOTH IS USED AND YOU JUST NEED TO SEARCH ON YOUR HOST'S BLUETOOTH. ALSO FOLLOW THE STEPS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY WHEN CONNECTING FOR THE FIRST TIME: - Turn off the vehicle; - Plug this OBDII dongle into your car's OBD socket; - Start the engine of your car; - Use your mobile phone or tablet to search for nearby Bluetooth devices. - Connect to a device called OBDII; - Use the password "1234". Once you see the device as a Bluetooth device, you've licked it. from the Google Play Store for use as the first host app. Once you earn it, you can fly solo.
