This controller works great with both the remote and my Alexa device. I had an issue with my wife pulling hard on the light and fan chains and breaking them. This controller solved that problem. A few things though. The instructions state that you must turn off 5G WiFi before attempting to connect this controller. I've tried several times to connect without turning off 5g and it didn't work. I had to contact xfinity support to find out how to disable 5G. After switching off 5G, the controller connected without any problems. Then I turned 5G back on and there was no problem. Second, I've found that Alexa doesn't understand all of the voice commands you can use. For example, it understands "turn on fan at high speed" and "turn on fan at low speed" but not "turn on fan at medium speed". She understands "turn on fan at level 1" for low, level 2 for medium and level 3 for high. Other reviewers say the little beep the controller makes when receiving a command is annoying. They probably complain about everything. The beep doesn't matter, I actually like to hear it so I know the controller is working. I am very satisfied with this device.
