As others have said, order one size up. Otherwise the son wears 3T and 4T fits him and probably won't fit him next summer. The fabric is pleasantly soft. However, when you get smudges on lighter colors - dinosaurs and beach prints on light blue and yellow - don't expect them to go away (and what kid doesn't get smudges on their shirts?). Barbecue sauce and other things. every other brand of detergent we've tried in one wash (C@rters, G@ranimals, every t-shirt company) doesn't come out with multiple washes with Scream or other stain treatments and prewash. After 2-3 washes I was able to fade the stain to the point of being invisible, but we finally got something that wouldn't go away. I will try everything to get the stains out and there is nothing I can do about it. This is disappointing. For the price they seem like a great deal, but stick with darker colors and/or grays if you intend to wear more than a few times without any visible blemishes.
