I bought this item because I used quite a bit of oil to fry homemade french fries. I hate wasting it or sitting in a mason jar. This product is perfect! When I'm done, I strain the HOT oil into a container. Strong enough not to melt or overheat the outside. He collects all the coarse crumbs at the top. It was very easy. After cooling, I can take out the strainer for easy cleaning. The best part is that it looks great on my desk! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who cooks with oil often!
