Great product for M1 Mac. NOT for the new iMac M1
I bought and installed three of these. They work great with the new M1 MacMini and Macbook Air I have them with. However, they will NOT work with the new M1 iMac. Worked initially but stopped working after 24 hours. It actually smells like burnt electronics. I tried another brand new one and it didn't work at all. Works fine with my Macbook Air though. Maybe it's just my M1 iMac, but using Apple's proprietary HDMI/USB dongle works fine, nothing else. Perhaps Apple did this to encourage you to buy more of their devices. I do not know.
