As others have said the hose has a strong smell. As someone else recommended, I put it out in the sun for a few days and the smell is imperceptible unless you bring it right up to your nose. I use sewing machine cleaning attachments and overlockers. This set is great for that! My serger looked almost as clean as it did when I bought it! I also bought the handheld vacuum described below to use with these attachments because my sewing machines are in the basement and I didn't want to drag my vacuum downstairs (or my machines upstairs!) every time they needed cleaning. The handheld vacuum works well with these attachments and offers good suction power.
