I bought a set of these spoons (from another manufacturer) a few years ago and I have used and loved them so much that I have decided to buy another set. They look just like my old set, but the manufacturer saved on a few corners, presumably to keep the price down. First, my old set has much stronger magnets, so the spoons stay firmly in the drawer even when I'm digging for something. . This kit is very easy to disassemble - sometimes under its own weight. They only look marginally better in the drawer than scattered measuring spoons. Second, in my old set, the bowls of the spoons are polished; These spoons have a frosted or frosted finish. You might think this is just an aesthetic choice, but it's actually functional as well. Spice powders do not stick to polished spoons, but to small cracks in brushed spoons. This creates the possibility of contamination during the double immersion. The design is still great, love the double ends, love the slim profile for the spice bottles. I just want them to be made better, like the "old days".
