As another reviewer noted, my old pre-release LG Smart TV, which is probably about 15 years old, suddenly shut down when all the HDMI ports weren't more worked. I googled the problem and found a guy on youtube (love youtube how to do this!) who demonstrated on a similar LG to mine how to use the PC/VGA port on the back as an HDMI input for a TV signal (DISH , in my case) with a 1080i image instead of using a not-so-good analog AVI port. This UGREEN HDMI to VGA adapter worked like clockwork and made my old TV fun again! A note: This adapter does not come with a 3.5mm male-to-male audio jack, which needs to be purchased separately to connect to the adapter and TV for audio to work. Anyway, I have a few laying around. You will also need a male-to-male HDMI cable.
