This product covers my son's crib railing and prevents him from chewing/licking the wooden railing. I bought a long narrow rail and also a short narrow rail for the side rails of the cradle in brown. My crib is a dark cherry color and the brown color goes well together. Made from fleece on the top and plastic on the bottom to help keep it in place. There are enough cords to securely attach the bandages to the crib's grid. As for chemical smells, which a few other reviewers experienced when first opening my shipping box, the product comes in clear plastic packaging (think the type of plastic packaging that contains sheets or curtains). In the plastic packaging, each rail wrap was in a plastic bag. When I took them out, there was a faint smell of plastic, but what do you expect from a product that's wrapped in two layers of plastic? I washed it once in the washing machine and the smell was gone! If I could deduct half a star, I would only do so because the shade of brown on the long rail cover was slightly lighter than the shade of brown on the short rail cover. I bought both at the same time and received them in the same package. The slightly changed color wasn't a BIG deal and I like it enough to let it go. They can also be easily removed and washed. Overall I would recommend this product. I am considering buying another cot from my parents.
