I've had my curls and tragus pierced for about 15 years. The piercer used a pearl hoop for both and I never touched them knowing I couldn't put the pearl back in. Well, the IUD has always had those annoying flares when it's very sensitive to the fact that lying on the pillow is uncomfortable. So I figured it was caused by my nickel allergy and started looking for titanium or surgical steel jewelry and found them. I like that they are not captive so there is no risk of losing an important part. I also like that they come in different colors so now I can swap them out if I can. As other comments point out, it can be difficult to open at first. Be sure to open and close them several times to loosen the hinge before inserting them. As long as you do that, I'm sure you'll love her. I now have this set in 3 sizes: 14G 12mm, 14G 10mm and 16G 8mm. 14 gauge for my spool and 16 gauge for my buck. The 12mm tire was too big for me, but the 10mm tire is perfection. I am planning on getting a nostril pierced soon and will be buying another set once I figure out what size to get. I'm glad I found her and only wish I had found her 15 years ago! I no longer have allergic reactions!
