Review on Cordiant Winter Drive 2 255/55 R18 109T by Jnis Bukovskis ᠌

Not everything is so bad, but there are disadvantages.

They had Brigstone revo gz, Velcro, and had been using them for four seasons; the tread was virtually gone; yet, I have never experienced a skid on any road, regardless of weather conditions. Because of the state of the country (breeches are now just tin), I opted for somewhat less expensive tires this year, reading reviews and settling on Cordiant's winter drive 2. It didn't take long for me to see the difference between the two brands, even before the first dusting of snow, proving that price isn't everything. At the first turn after light snow, the car went skidding at 40 km/h; I thought, okay, maybe the ice was frozen there or I was driving fast (although this turn always flew by 50); then, when I failed to make it uphill on the first try on the rolled snow at an angle of 20 degrees - I understood everything for myself; the car just skidded in place, and the clutch's odor filled the cabin. The first few days I rode the cordiant like I was wearing breeches out of sheer habit, and it was terrifying. Where she used to stand like a glove, she began to float. They are sufficient to drive away quietly for a couple of winters and not die, but the handling is visibly inferior and the speeds you can drive at are lower, so I do not argue that the cord has the right to life. Whereas I used to not give much thought to the fact that it was winter and how to drive, I now occasionally have to face my fears. If these were the first wheels ever made, I might feel the same way. Next year I plan to sell and go on to other things. Cordiants' single redeeming quality is that, presumably as a result of their gentle nature, they are nearly silent. There is a wide range of opinions, from "much better than competitors" to "much better than in the summer."

Pros
  • They are quiet and reasonably priced, and they make a lot of sense in the winter if you get sick from being in the city and sitting in traffic, but you shouldn't count on a miracle from them. Perfect for a city with reliable street cleaning services and a distrust of rubber.
Cons
  • Take care of business as a trio

The set cost less than 10 thousand, for such money a great option!
