I am an adult (38 years old) with Eustachian tube dysfunction and every few years I buy a new set of pressure hoses when they wear out. Sometimes going underwater isn't a problem at all, but other times the water just goes right into your middle ear. Gave them a whirlwind on a couple of snorkeling trips just last week (February 2018). No problem! I first wore them in the shower a few times to test them out. You have to push the nuggets into your ears very, very slowly without stuffing them too far or too tight of course. You can also wear a headband to keep your ears in place. After a few jumps in the sea (Caribbean salt water) I was in the water for a total of a few hours and no problems. Definitely worth a very small investment.
