Review on Mobile Fidelity Record Cleaning Brush by Justin Herman

I bought this because I saw several online guides recommending it for dry cleaning records. I'm new to collecting so I took my word for it. I don't know what kind of brush they have but it's not bullshit. I've used it for dry cleaning and it actually worked as advertised this time. No problem, easily picks up small amounts of dust and animal hair, that's all I need for it. I treat my vinyls casually to require lighter maintenance from time to time. However, when I cleaned the brush using the same method they mentioned on their website, it all went downhill. Between that awful rubbery smell and a pad that just fell off after the company-recommended wash, there's no reason to use this brush. And that's not even mentioning the horrible, battered box the brush came in. hung on a hanger in a flooded basement for years. Maintaining this brush and keeping it in working order is a lot harder than the minimum prices I have received and will receive in the future. If you have your own method for cleaning records, stick with it because it's worth it. It looked like it had been hanging on a hanger in a flooded basement for years.
